At Revolvex Group, we believe in the power of circular thinking where yesterday’s tech can help build a better tomorrow. That’s why we’re proud to be partnering with Students’ Union UCL to transform unused devices into vital funding that supports students in hardship.
Right now, only half of UCL students feel confident that they can afford their basic living costs. One in four regularly go without food or other essentials. These are difficult times to be a student, but together we can help change that.
Through the UCL Hardship Fund, Students’ Union UCL provides direct financial support to students facing challenges, helping with housing, food, mental health and access to community activities. Over £200,000 has already been distributed this year alone, providing critical support when it’s needed most.
Now, through our partnership with Students’ Union UCL, we’re making it easier than ever for the UCL community to turn their old tech into real impact.
At Revolvex, we’re redefining what it means to manage technology responsibly. This partnership shows how circular innovation can create real social value, transforming unused devices into funding that changes lives.

How it works
Students and staff can drop off unwanted devices at the Students’ Union reception on the ground floor at 25 Gordon Street, WC1H 0AY. Smartphones, laptops, tablets and accessories such as chargers, cables and headsets are all welcome.
Once donated, the tech will be securely processed by the Revolvex Group team. Every device is data wiped using ADISA accredited software, and any that cannot be powered on will have their motherboards safely destroyed to eliminate data risks.
Some devices will be repaired and resold, while others will be responsibly recycled. All proceeds from resold tech go directly to the UCL Hardship Fund, helping reduce e-waste while supporting students through difficult times.
It’s a powerful loop that delivers less waste, more opportunity and a more sustainable future for everyone.
Make a Difference from Anywhere
You don’t need to be part of UCL to get involved. Anyone can donate and help make a difference. Together, we’re proving that sustainability and social impact go hand in hand. Every device donated helps reduce waste, raise funds and open doors for students who need it most.
If you can’t make it to campus, you can still take part. Simply send your unwanted tech to:

Before donating, please remember, if you are donating smart devices, ensure cloud accounts (iCloud or Google) are removed as we will be unable to unlock them.
