Community Calling is an award-winning partnership between Hubbub, Virgin Media O2 and Relove Technology, tackling e-waste and digital exclusion. Individuals and businesses can gift smartphones to be re-distributed to people who need them, enabling devices to have a life-changing role instead of contributing to the estimated 123 million already going unused.

As Hubbub’s technology partner for Community Calling, we provide the engine room that enables donated devices to be processed and redistributed to the beneficiaries of the Community Calling Program. Our award-winning, proven processes ensure each device donated is fully tested and securely data wiped in preparation for reuse by the beneficiary. To date, Community Calling has rehomed more than 24,000 smartphones, providing people with vital support.

Our systems provide a full audit trail from collection of devices from personal /corporate supporters through to the beneficiary. We are one of the most accredited companies in this sector and it is our commitment to excellence that gives our clients peace of mind, including being an Authorised Approved Treatment Facility (AATF) and Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE), ISO9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 Certifications.
Our impact
As a B Corp, we operate a circular business model where we recover, refurbish and reuse technology products, reducing e-waste and making technology accessible to all. We extend the lifecycle of mobile technology and related products, creating multiple ownership opportunities, reducing carbon emissions and e-waste by many thousands of tonnes, as well creating tangible value for our customers. Since working in partnership with Hubbub from 2022, we have generated substantial operational savings, enabling them to rehome more devices to those who need them, without additional funding.

Relove Technology’s purpose is to ensure every accessory & device in circulation can be recovered, reused or recycled responsibly.
